Part 1 - Guidance on Curtain Header Style

Measurement Guide

Pinch Pleat

Overview

  • A statement-making piece for a formal and elegant look. 

Specification

  • Pinch Pleat-Double: 2 folds, 2x inbuilt fullness; Pinch Pleat-Triple: 3 folds, 2.5x inbuilt fullness.
  • Pleat Spacing: 12cm; Return/Overlap: 6cm; Gathered Pleats: 10cm below top.

Measurement

  • To determine the number of pleats you'll need, divide the panel width by the 12 spacing plus 1.
  • The ring is approximately 5cm in diameter, so measure from 5cm below the rod top for the panel length.

Euro Pleat

Overview

  • Apparently, elegant option. A marriage of both vintage and contemporary take.

Specification

  • Euro Pleat-Double: 2 folds, 2x inbuilt fullness; Euro Pleat-Triple: 3 folds, 2.5x inbuilt fullness.
  • Gathered Pleats: 0.6cm below the top; Pleat Spacing: 12.7cm.

Measurement

  • To figure out how many pleats will be, divide the panel width by the 10cm spacing and add an extra 1.

Additional Notes

  • Fit for rods and tracks. Pair them with clips or rings.
  • The stack back width will be 1/5 of the drapery width.

Ripple Fold

Overview

  • The most wavy look ever. The S-curves will stay in shape, always.

Specification

  • Available in 3 different snap spaces: 10.8cm, 12.7cm, and 14.5cm. The 10.8cm space tape is the hottest pick.
  • Runner Spacing: 6cm.
  • Fullness: snap space/runner space. Check the details below:

Snap space of tape: 107mm, Fullness: 1.8X for about 80% , Depth: 3.5 inches
Snap space of tape: 125mm, Fullness: 2.1X for about 110%*, Depth: 4.5 inches
Snap space of tape: 145mm, Fullness: 2.4X for about 140%, Depth: 5.5 inches

Measurement

  • We use the 6cm runner and 12.7cm tape by default, creating 2.1x fullness, and fit 80% of tracks that are 1.9cm in diameter.
  • The panel width should equal the track width/panel quantity. (flat panel width is about 2.1 times the panel width)
  • The panel length is measured from the track bottom to the floor.

Lining, or curtain liner, means the extra layer of fabric sewn to your curtains. Adding lining is a convenient way to ensure your curtains last longer or look prettier.

Unlined

Only for Sheers & Already 100% Blockout Curtains

  • Unlined is only practical if you have sheers or already 100% blackout curtains, such as our Gary & Todd.
  • Unlined is literally the fabric alone without anything added. So does the light-blocking limited.

White Lining

  • Sheer + Triple Weave Lining = 100% Light-blocking

*Curtains with added blackout lining should be dry cleaned.

Please note: The inner side of the blackout lining is light blue, which might not be suitable for sheer or lightweight curtains that block only 40-50% of light due to potential color change.

Cotton Lining

Ratio

  • Sheer + White Lining = 30-40% Light-blocking
  • Drape + White Lining = 40-99% Light-blocking

Notes for Curtain Linings

  • Curtains are not lined initially. The four options we offer are made-to-order. Pick whichever you want to fit your needs.
  • The finished lining length is about 7cm shorter than the finished length of the drapery panel, which is the industry standard.
  • The linings will sewn on the three sides: top, left, and right. If you need to specify, please drop us a line.
  • With a lining added on the back, the texture and shade of the curtain can be a bit heavier and deeper.
  • Care: All lining-added curtains are recommended to dry clean first. Or machine wash on a gentle cycle and ONE panel per time.
